Our Heritage & History

Portofino, Italy is a beautiful little town on the Italian Riviera. Portofino has earned its name, the “gem of the Riviera” and is at its best when the morning sun reflects on its typical houses, which were once the homes of modest sailors and seamen but today have become home to the rich and famous. Tourism and fishing are Portofino’s primary industries.

Rosario DiPasquale, a native of Italy, opened Portofino in 2002 as the culmination of over 30 years experience in the restaurant industry. His experience includes working for first class hotels and restaurants in Italy, England and the United States, in addition to several years with cruise lines as a Chef de Rang.
